Nexus, our design for the 40th Street Headhouse stair screens, is based on a uniquely modified street map pattern - centered on the 40th Street Station – that is intended to reflect a dynamic sense of energy flow throughout the city and proudly evoke a sense of place and belonging. On this lively base grid, each stair screen contains a secondary and unique pattern of three-dimensional, colored insert forms which reference various aspects of the urban experience and also provides helpful wayfinding identification for Septa transit users.
